Friends — Tragedy once again has struck the country of Haiti, when a 7.2 magnitude earthquake left more than 1,200 Haitians dead, and thousands displaced.

Haiti was still struggling to recover from the 7.0 earthquake that destroyed much of Port-au-Prince in 2010, and after the political turmoil from earlier this year, this earthquake could not have come at a worse time for Haitians.

The fight is not over. According to scientists, the island continues to deal with aftershocks and may be in the possible path of a tropical storm. Haitians need help now more than ever.

Our entire team is standing with the Haitian community during this time of crisis, and I am working diligently with the Biden Administration, USCIS, and the House Haiti and Caribbean Caucuses to ensure the people of Haiti have the resources they need to recover and rebuild.
