(time sensitive)? ? ? ? ? Friend ? last week, we reached out with an update on our "surge" campaign ? an effort representing the most significant environmental campaign, on the most important climate legislation in a generation.
The response has been humbling ? LCV members from all over the country have pitched in with $5, $10, $20 donations ? many becoming LCV members for the very first time, and many making monthly contributions.
Here's what I can tell you now: the campaign is working.
We're hearing from Members of Congress who are being inundated with messages from grassroots activists. They're seeing pro-environment lawn signs in their home districts, ads across multiple platforms ? they're seeing support everywhere for action on climate now.
We need your help to keep this going, friend. As Congress considers a $3.5 trillion package that includes major provisions on climate change and environmental justice, we can't afford to lose a single vote. There is a real shot at passage here ? but not if the environmental movement goes quiet right now.
As our surge campaign rolls out, large portions are still underfunded. Pitch in today and triple your impact ? it only takes $5 ? [link removed]
Following the devastating IPCC report, we see this as our best shot ? and maybe our last shot ? to address the climate crisis at the scale necessary before 2 degrees of warming devastates the planet beyond recognition.
Our strategy: Spark action from Congress by showing highly visible grassroots support for action in priority districts. Senators and Representatives must see strong demand for climate action from their own constituents if there's any chance at moving the bill forward.
We've deployed a massive field program in eight states and 15 congressional districts, with 15 offices and 100 staff on the ground. Organizers in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia are going door-to-door canvassing to reach residents and businesses to pledge support for bold legislation by displaying "Climate Action Now" signs in their neighborhoods and businesses.
We're also running a media campaign to ensure that key members of Congress feel supported in taking strong action for clean energy, climate, jobs, and justice. Communications include new cable, broadcast TV, and digital ads in 16 states and 23 congressional districts, airing as members of Congress are home for August recess.

We have to keep this going in the lead-up to a vote in the coming weeks. To do that, we're aiming to raise $50,000 before the end of August.
If everyone reading this message pitched in, we'd blow through that goal in minutes. So we're asking:
Will you be a part of this campaign? Every contribution is being triple matched right now ? all it takes to make a difference is $5 ? [link removed]
Thank you for everything that you do. I hope that our team gets to see you out on the road.
Onward,
Alex, Brooke, Casey, ChiQuita, Jim, Mike, Brent, and Vinnie
