Dear Colorado Republicans,

This week, a preventable tragedy is unfolding on the world stage as Joe Biden's failure of leadership continues to cost lives. While Afghanistan was falling -- with American citizens and our allies caught in the crosshairs -- the President was nowhere to be found. With our citizens and allies still stranded and under Taliban control, Senator Michael Bennet apparently took a vacation and remained silent. Sen. Bennet is on the Senate Intelligence Committee, and we will hold him accountable for abandoning Americans. The question has never been whether we should withdraw from Afghanistan, but how the withdrawal should happen. On every count, Joe Biden, Michael Bennet, and the Democrats in charge got it wrong. Voters will remember in 2022.

Election integrity remains a top bipartisan issue, and we must be clear: we are the party of law and order. We will insist on transparent and accountable elections, and we will always follow the law as we do it. You can read my most recent statement about Colorado elections here ([link removed]) .

Thanks to all of you who have signed up for our Local Candidate Support Days! We still have room for more people to jump on board. Here's the link ([link removed]) to choose your day and let us know what you can do to help our school board and city council candidates get elected.

As our kids go back to school, let's never forget that we -- their parents -- are responsible to make the best choices for them. The government and the unions don't love our children like we do. Stand up for your rights and your children's rights, refuse to allow the schools to force your children to wear masks all day, and keep showing up at the school board meetings. Your voice is essential.

Thank you,
Kristi Burton Brown

** Lamborn calls out Pentagon, intelligence agencies for Afghanistan 'disaster'
------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]
Colorado Springs Gazette: ([link removed]) Colorado Springs Republican U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn on Monday called the situation in Afghanistan "far worse than the fall of Saigon," while slamming the Pentagon, intelligence agencies and President Joe Biden.

A leading Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, Lamborn said the Pentagon and intelligence agencies downplayed the possibility of a Taliban takeover while boosting Biden's planned withdrawal of American troops, concluding the 20-year war effort.

"Just weeks ago, the chairman of the joint chiefs assured me that a total takeover by the Taliban was unlikely," Lamborn said in an email.

The congressman warned that American equipment now in Taliban hands — including armored vehicles, tactical aircraft and weapons from M-4 rifles to howitzers — could destabilize the region and threaten U.S. security.
