John,

We have just 24 hours more to stop the spread of ghost guns.

Tomorrow, the Justice Department is closing the public comment period for its proposed rule to regulate "ghost" guns — these untraceable, build-it-yourself firearms have quickly become the weapon of choice for violent crimes across the country.

Last year, police found a 13 year old in Middlesex County that had constructed dozens of these guns at home without his parents' knowledge.¹

Once the public comment period closes, the Administration will make its final decision on the rule. With just 24 hours to go, we need to tell the Biden Administration that Americans support restricting ghost guns.

Just last year, authorities raided a shipment to Massachusetts from China that contained AR-15 style ghost guns and silencers, both of which are illegal in Massachusetts. In another incident, police found multiple ghost guns with a copy of Hitler's Manifesto in a Winthrop raid.²

These are precisely the types of hands we need to keep guns out of, yet the ghost guns loophole allows dangerous individuals to purchase nearly-assembled firearms.

The NRA is urging its supporters to add public comments against this rule. That's why it's critical the Department of Justice hears your support and implements federal restrictions on ghost guns.

Can you take two minutes to leave a comment in support of ending ghost guns?

Massachusetts has worked hard to regulate firearms, but without further action we will continue to experience the damage from the treachery of ghost guns. Together, we can make every community safer by taking life-saving action.
