John,

A young child not able to access the proper medicine she needs for a chronic condition. A family trying to help an ailing grandmother in a hospital with a shortage of nurses. Refugee workers severely lacking resources to build shelters and provide aid to Afghan refugees. These are just a few of the stories we hear every day on how U.S. sanctions impact the Iranian people.

While we wait for diplomats to negotiate a return to the Iran nuclear deal, Iranians continue to suffer the brunt of stalled diplomacy. As U.S. sanctions continue to ravage ordinary Iranians, the Iranian-American community is only facing increased worry about the wellbeing of our loved ones back in Iran, who are struggling to feed their families, combat COVID-19, and access live-saving medication. A return to the nuclear deal would knock out some of the worst sanctions and ease this humanitarian crisis, but we need U.S. officials to act with urgency.

That’s why we launched our #SanctionsStory campaign to uplift the voices of those who have suffered from the impact of sanctions.

Here are just a few ways you can help amplify these stories and urge Congress to act:

Stories are extremely powerful advocacy tools. The more stories we tell, the more we can educate our elected officials about the urgency around lifting sanctions, engaging in diplomacy, and securing a return to the Iran deal. So please take a moment today to join us in watching, sharing, and uplifting our #SanctionsStory campaign today.
