Already facing ongoing instability from COVID-19, the 2010 earthquake, and the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, the Haitian people are now facing another devastating event — Haiti was hit by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake on Saturday morning.
As a co-chair of the Congressional Haitian Caucus, it’s clear we must stand with the Haitian community as they rebuild and continue to stand strong in the face of uncertainty. We must support recovery efforts led by Haitians, grounded in community, and centered on the dignity, health, and safety of all Haitian people.
Fondasyon Konesans Ak Libète (Foundation for Knowledge and Liberty), known as FOKAL, supports smallholder farmers associations, grassroots women’s organizations, and small local ethical enterprises across Haiti that are true first responders on the ground — and are also the best agents to strengthen grassroots networks, self-care communities, local advocacy, and economic recovery.
Will you rush an urgent $3 contribution to FOKAL to support their efforts towards communal and economic recovery in Haiti?
Contribute $3
We will continue to work to make sure that Haiti’s recovery is Haitian-led — it’s essential for the stability, security and peace of the region.
Thank you for your support today,
