** Cultural Survival Announces 2021 Indigenous Community Media Fund Grant Partners

Cultural Survival is pleased to announce the fifth round of grants from our Indigenous Community Media Fund. ([link removed]) The Indigenous Community Media Fund strengthens international Indigenous community radio stations' broadcast infrastructure, systems, programming, and community advocacy. Ensuring that Indigenous communities have a viable and critical medium for the dissemination of news, community information, education, participation, and entertainment from their own perspectives, this Indigenous Led Fund enhances community efforts to establish and sustain Indigenous community-controlled media.
The partner organizations and radio stations ([link removed]) were selected based on their work in strengthening the collaboration, leadership, participation, and organization of their communities, revitalizing Indigenous cultures, languages, histories, cosmologies, rights, and protecting ancestral territories, in addition to promoting the leadership of Indigenous women communicators.
Eighteen grants were awarded in 11 countries ( Bangladesh, Nepal, Namibia, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Kenya, and South Africa), totaling $104,748 to the following partners:

* Radio Riverside, South Africa (San)
* Voices of Our Land Station, Colombia (Naza)
* Awá School of Communication and The Voices of the Awá Station, Colombia (Awá)
* The Federation of Native Communities of the Ucayali and Tributaries - FECONAU, Peru (Kakataibo)
* Maranki Radio, Peru (Ashéninka)
* Lúdica Chi Xot House, Guatemala (Kaqchikel)

Cultural Survival se complace en anunciar la quinta ronda de subvenciones de nuestro Fondo de Medios Comunitarios Indígenas. ([link removed]) El Fondo de Medios Comunitarios Indígenas fortalece la infraestructura de transmisión, los sistemas, la programación y la promoción comunitaria de las estaciones de radio comunitarias Indígenas internacionales. Asegurando que las comunidades Indígenas tengan un medio viable y crítico para la difusión de noticias, información comunitaria, educación, participación y entretenimiento desde sus propias perspectivas, este Fondo liderado por Indígenas mejora los esfuerzos de la comunidad para establecer y mantener los medios controlados por la comunidad Indígena.
Las organizaciones socias y estaciones ([link removed]) de radio fueron seleccionadas en base a su trabajo, fortaleciendo la colaboración, liderazgo, participación y organización de sus comunidades, revitalizando las culturas, lenguas, historia, cosmología, derechos Indígenas y protegiendo el territorio ancestral, además de promover el liderazgo de mujeres comunicadoras.
Se otorgaron dieciocho subvenciones en 11 países (Bangladesh, Nepal, Namibia, México, Guatemala, El Salvador, Perú, Colombia, Ecuador, Kenia y Sudáfrica), por un total de $104,748, a los siguientes socios:
