Dear Friend,
I hope this finds you well. It’s been a heartbreaking week watching the horrific situation in Afghanistan unfold. I don’t pretend to be an expert on international affairs or national defense, so for now am praying hard for our brave troops and the Afghan people.
I’m writing to flag for you an interview I did with the National Catholic Register that just posted this Monday. We discuss all sorts of political and moral issues confronting orthodox believers today, and it ends up highlighting a bunch of the good work that EPPC scholars are doing. I thought you might appreciate it. You can read it here.
While I have you, I also wanted to pass along a link to a TV interview I did last week on EWTN News Nightly. I discuss how transgender ideology was snuck into the infrastructure bill, a misguided Catholic letter on “non-discrimination,” and why the Supreme Court must overturn Roe v. Wade and at the very least allow states to protect unborn babies. You can watch it here. This fight is heating up and we have to meet it head-on: just last week my own local school district imposed a radically unjust transgender policy on all students and teachers.
Lastly, Roger Severino and his team in EPPC’s HHS Accountability Project have been engaged in some truly vital work. Two weeks ago, Roger wrote an essay at NRO blowing the whistle on the Biden HHS and DOJ who swept under the rug the fact that they are not going to hold accountable a hospital that forced a pro-life nurse to help perform an abortion. When Roger was the head of civil rights at HHS his team had found the hospital guilty of violating the law and the Trump DOJ sued. But HHS and DOJ now under the Biden administration quietly and voluntarily dismissed the case without enforcing any penalties or ensuring compliance with conscience-protection laws. Thanks to the alarm raised by Roger and his team, several dozen Members of Congress responded by sending an outstanding bi-cameral letter demanding answers on the record from the Biden administration. You can watch Roger’s interview on EWTN Pro-Life Weekly discussing the case here.
As you can see, EPPC is working hard to expose the radical woke agenda, bearing witness to the truth and promoting the common good in all of its aspects. Thank you for your support and encouragement through these critical battles!
Warmly,
Ryan T. Anderson
