The Women's Fund of Rhode Island participated in the The Paid Leave for All Bus tour. which kicked off in Providence on August 2. This national campaign is working to pass paid family and medical leave for all working people. The bus will visit a total of fourteen cities around the United States with a call to Congress to pass a national paid leave policy as part of the next infrastructure bill.

This month’s jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) shows overall both men and women workers are going back to work. However, according to the Institute for Women's Policy Research, full recovery is still a ways off, as women’s jobs on payroll are still 3.1 million jobs below pre-COVID-19 level, further behind than men who have 2.6 million fewer jobs than in February 2020.

Neighborhood Funders Group has released a new report, "Building Power in Place - Houston: Breaking the Cycles of Disaster, Displacement, and Disenfranchisement." The report attempts to document the stories of the historically-rooted Black, Indigenous, and Latinx, as well as more recent Asian and Pacific Islander migrants and other workers whose labor and energy are being exploited to sustain a global-scale energy economy.
