The Women's Fund of Rhode Island participated in the The Paid Leave for All Bus tour. ([link removed]) which kicked off in Providence on August 2. This national campaign is working to pass paid family and medical leave for all working people. The bus will visit a total of fourteen cities around the United States with a call to Congress to pass a national paid leave policy as part of the next infrastructure bill.

The Victorian Women’s Trust's podcast, The Trap ([link removed]) , released their third episode, titled "Why Do They Do It?". Content warning: This episode features real-time audio of abuse that may be especially distressing to some listeners.

The Chicago Foundation for Women is hosting their 36th Annual Luncheon: Rise Up, Disrupt ([link removed]) , featuring keynote speaker Stacey Abrams. The luncheon will take place at the Hilton Chicago (720 South Michigan Avenue), but can also be attended virtually.

The National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy has released a new resource, Funding the Frontlines: A Roadmap to Supporting Health Equity Through Abortion Access ([link removed]) , which features data, resource links, and direct storytelling from patients, providers and funders that explores how reproductive access is a linchpin for public health racial equity and economic equality.

This month’s jobs report ([link removed]) from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) shows overall both men and women workers are going back to work. However, according to the Institute for Women's Policy Research ([link removed]) , full recovery is still a ways off, as women’s jobs on payroll are still 3.1 million jobs below pre-COVID-19 level, further behind than men who have 2.6 million fewer jobs than in February 2020.

Neighborhood Funders Group has released a new report, "Building Power in Place - Houston: Breaking the Cycles of Disaster, Displacement, and Disenfranchisement." ([link removed]) The report attempts to document the stories of the historically-rooted Black, Indigenous, and Latinx, as well as more recent Asian and Pacific Islander migrants and other workers whose labor and energy are being exploited to sustain a global-scale energy economy.
