** Biden's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan
------------------------------------------------------------

President Biden’s pathetic capitulation to the Taliban is not only a betrayal of America’s security interests, it was also a profound betrayal of those American soldiers who fought and died in Afghanistan to protect those interests as well as to the thousands of Afghans who’ve aided America’s armed forces at great risk to themselves and to their families.

So, what was Biden’s excuse for his decision to surrender? According to Biden it was because the Afghan army lacked “the will” to fight.

Not only is this largely untrue, it was in fact self-fulfilling prophecy brought about by Biden’s own feckless leadership.

From the Wall Street Journal: “But the Afghans were willing to fight and take casualties with the support of the U.S. and its NATO allies, especially air power. A few thousand troops and contractors could have done the job and prevented this rout.”

Again, from the Wall Street Journal:

“The Afghan army…was molded to match the way the Americans operate [by relying] heavily on combining ground operations with air power, using aircraft to resupply outposts, strike targets, ferry the wounded, and collect reconnaissance and intelligence….[But] in the wake of President Biden’s withdrawal decision, the U.S. pulled its air support, intelligence and contractors servicing Afghanistan’s planes and helicopters. That meant the Afghan military simply couldn’t operate anymore.”

While Afghanistan’s provinces and cities fell like dominos to the Taliban, Biden dithered. He willfully ignored the intelligence briefings that predicted, correctly, the rapid collapse of the Afghan government should the U.S. withdraw its remaining troops and abandon its support of the Afghan army. Instead of heeding the advice of experts, Biden pushed forward with a poorly planned withdrawal that not only put embassy personnel at risk and compromised the safety of thousands of private contractors, it also put tens of thousands of innocent Afghan civilians in harm’s way.

It is no exaggeration so say that this is the worst humiliation for the United States since the fall of Saigon in 1975.

On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives in a terrorist attack that was planned and executed by Islamic jihadists who were given safe haven by Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers. Deluded by hubris and his so-called “foreign policy expertise,” Joe Biden has now returned Afghanistan to the control of the same fanatics who gleefully colluded with Al Qaeda twenty years ago. With the anniversary of the 9/11 attack less than one month away, Americans will commemorate this solemn occasion while wondering if Afghanistan will once again become a staging ground for another devastating attack on our nation.

The author of is this all-around catastrophe, to his everlasting shame, is Joe Biden and you can be sure that America’s enemies have taken note.
