Gray wolves are being hunted and trapped by the hundreds in the Northern Rockies, where wolf reintroduction began 25 years ago. And now, their future could be in jeopardy.

Friend of Defenders, unless we step up, the success of our wolf restoration efforts could be at risk.

In Wyoming, you can already shoot as many wolves as you want in 80% of the state.

And while you can’t kill wolves in Yellowstone National Park, you can hunt a Yellowstone wolf if it takes a single step outside the park boundary. Some of the world’s best-loved Yellowstone wolves have been killed not far outside the park.

Not to be outdone, in Idaho, the state even helps fund a bounty of up to $1,000 to kill a wolf.
