#NoMoreExcuses: 8/24 Action at the White House in Support of Voting Rights

Dear John,

There is simply no more time for excuses. All across the country, voting rights are at stake. Meanwhile, President Biden, who says that the recent onslaught of voter suppression is the greatest threat to our democracy since the Civil War, has yet to ensure the passage of federal voting rights legislation.

On Tuesday, August 24th, a number of organizational and faith leaders will do what has been done for generations to bring about necessary change – they will rally and protest outside the White House – calling on President Biden to do everything in his power to ensure passage of a federal voting rights bill, including using his platform as president to persuade the Senate pass pro-voter legislation.

Join them at Lafayette Park from 12:00pm-1pm, and show your support for taking whatever is necessary to save our democracy.

There is simply too much at stake to sit on the sidelines. No matter what issues are most important to you, whether they're health care, climate change, the economy, or fighting corruption, all of them hinge on the ability for people to make themselves heard at the ballot box. A movement to suppress the will of the majority has gained dangerous traction in our country, and the new voter suppression laws already being enacted in dozens of states are an extension of that assault on our democracy.
