Hey John, if you don’t know me, my name is Debra, and I’m Ritchie’s mom.

I could brag about my son all day, but I’ll try my best to be brief:

Photo of Debra and Ritchie

Life wasn’t always easy for us when Ritchie was growing up.

We lived in public housing, and there were times when I was raising my kids on minimum wage, which at the time was only $4.25 per hour. I won’t lie, it was difficult.

Ritchie understands the struggles of New York families because we often lived them ourselves, John.

And I know that those experiences drive him every single time he walks into his office in D.C.

They drive him to fight to end child poverty.
They drive him to ensure fair, affordable housing for all.
They drive him to put money in the pockets of working families.

John, I know I’m biased, but there is no better person than Ritchie to represent NY-15. If you can afford to give $3, I know he would appreciate it so much.

Ritchie Torres represents the future of the Democratic Party. Raised by a single mother in public housing, Ritchie personally understands the hardships that working families endure. At age 25, Ritchie made history as the youngest elected official to serve on the New York City Council. He fought tirelessly for the working families of The Bronx, and now, he's fighting for those families and for progressive values in Congress. He is the first openly gay Afro Latino ever elected to Congress. Ritchie is a champion for progressive policies to fight poverty and to improve the lives of families just like the one he was raised in.
