What is Donald Trump hiding when it comes to Turkey and abandoning the Kurds in northern Syria?

John,

What is Donald Trump hiding when it comes to Turkey and abandoning the Kurds in northern Syria?

In 2015, Donald Trump told Breitbart News in an interview with Steve Bannon, “I have a little conflict of interest because I have a major, major building in Istanbul and it’s a tremendously successful job. It’s called Trump Towers — two towers instead of one, not the usual one, it’s two.”[1]

Bannon’s response (speaking as a swing voter): “How do I know he’s going to stand up to Turkey?” Trump hasn’t, of course.

Maybe it’s because since being elected Donald Trump hasn’t disinvested from his Turkish business investments. Instead, he hired a National Security Advisor (Michael Flynn) who was working for the Turkish government during the 2016 campaign. And Trump’s hosted Turkish officials at an annual conference on U.S.-Turkish relations at his Washington, D.C. hotel.[2]

Next month, Trump will welcome Turkish President Erdogan to the White House, even as Turkey is in the midst of slaughtering U.S. Kurdish allies in Syria.[3]

All of this feels a little too familiar to me. It pretty much resembles Trump’s sucking up to Valdimir Putin, president of Russia. What’s the possible connection between the Russia and Turkey situations? Trump’s personal financial and business interests.

How do we get to the bottom of it? We need to see Trump’s tax returns — full stop!

Am I seeing this right? Tell me what you think in this one-click poll. Is Donald Trump:

We’re trying to find out by demanding to see Trump’s personal and business tax returns, which will shed light on his foreign business dealings and how those are impacting his decisions as president.

Thank you,
