We are honored to represent Mi Familia Vota, the Arizona Coalition for Change, Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA), and Chispa Arizona of the League of Conservation Voters in this critical case to challenge voter suppression. We are joined on the legal team for this lawsuit by our pro bono law firm partners, Mayer Brown LLP and Quarles & Brady LLP.

In October 2020, we won a major victory for Arizona voters, when a federal judge issued a ruling in response to a lawsuit we filed to extend the voter registration deadline in Arizona in the midst of the pandemic, allowing over 35,000 new voters to be registered in Arizona and to be eligible to vote in the November 2020 election. With today’s new filing, we are continuing to fight back in the courts to defend the franchise for all Arizona voters.

In addition to our defense of voting rights in the courts, we are calling on Congress to eliminate the filibuster and pass the For the People Act, a landmark democracy reform package, and The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. Click here to read our recent op-ed published in Newsweek, urging President Joe Biden to follow the example of LBJ in standing up for the right to vote and to use his presidential power to push the U.S. Senate to end the filibuster, that “Jim Crow relic,” as former President Barack Obama has called it.

Your support helps fuel our work to fight emerging threats to our fundamental right to vote and to our democracy. Can you chip in today to help us protect voting rights in Arizona and beyond?
