John,
When I flipped my seat in 2018, I was the first Democrat elected to represent Virginia’s 7th District since 1968. Thanks to a dedicated grassroots effort, we reached every corner of the district and won by a slim margin. In 2020, the race was just as close, but our campaign’s immense support allowed me to win re-election.
Now, we are focusing on 2022. Multiple opponents have declared their candidacy to challenge me in 2022, because of the close margins in this seat:

We know that we will face misrepresentations, distortions, and lies about my record from my many opponents. But I remain confident and energized because I know what is on the line with this election, and I know that you all know it too. With your support, I can counteract their attacks and ensure people across Central Virginia know I am committed to moving this country forward.
I wouldn’t ask if this wasn’t so important, John. We know my race in 2022 will likely be as close as the first two, so I hope you’ll consider contributing today to provide us with the resources necessary to win.

I am so proud of the work we’ve done to expand rural broadband access, protect Social Security and Medicare, help small businesses, and so much more. I hope to continue this critical work by defeating my opponents and winning re-election in 2022.
Thank you,
Abigail
