Stay Informed Monday, August 16, 2021 Senate Asks AG to Review Maricopa BOS Non-Response The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and Dominion voting systems both declined to respond to the legal subpoenas they were issued by the Arizona State Senate regarding the Arizona Audit. State Senator Sonny Borelli responded to their non-response by filing a SB 1487 request for investigation with the Arizona Attorney General’s office. An SB 1487 request puts into motion an investigation by the State Attorney General to determine if a local government entity has violated state law. If it is determined that a law has been violated, the local officials, in this case Maricopa County Supervisors, can be charged with a Class 2 criminal misdemeanor. The Attorney General may also withhold 10 percent of state funds that go to the entity until they comply; in this case, that would be over $60 million withheld from the Board of Supervisors. The Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) completed their first round of public hearings on new district lines for the U.S. Congress and state legislature. Republicans turned out in droves and we thank each and everyone of you that participated. The U.S. Census has finally released their data from the 2020 Census, which will allow the IRC to begin drafting maps. Once the preliminary maps are ready, there will be another round of public hearings, and we will need your help again. At the moment, I am attending the Republican National Committee Summer Meeting and sharing updates with Republican national leaders on America’s Audit. I’m making sure that everyone here fully understands how important Arizona will be to taking back and keeping Republican majorities in the U.S. House and Senate. Looking forward to giving a detailed update when I return. Always America First! Dr. Kelli Ward Chairwoman Republican Party of Arizona Photo by: Meghan Dhaliwal, The New York Times Biden’s Border Crisis Sets New Highs Illegal immigration at the US-Mexico border set a new 21-year record in July as an estimated 210,000 migrants crossed into the United States according to a report released by the Republican National Committee. One U. S. border patrol official summarized the situation in a warning that “we’ve surrendered the border.” The report went on to explain that the more than 19,000 encounters with unaccompanied children set a new all-time record. Meanwhile President Biden and Vice President Harris made unsubstantiated claims implying that there has been progress on the border and that the situation is now under control. Since these statements were made, more than 580,000 illegal immigrants have been encountered at the border. Observers of the administration’s handling of the immigration situation describe the border as an “uncontrolled crisis” and charge that Vice President Harris is failing miserably in her role as border czar. In McAllen, Texas where immigrant holding facilities are 585 percent over maximum capacity, plans for mass releases are underway. Journalists covering the border crisis report that the detained immigrants are the “largest group of migrants that we’ve ever seen.” To compound the situation, untested and unvaccinated COVID-positive immigrants are being transported throughout the U. S. and being housed in hotels including several in Arizona. Critical of the administration’s failed border position, Texas border district Democrat Congressman Henry Cuellar pointed out that “our DHS agents and border communities are overwhelmed and must be prioritized…something has to change,” he concluded. Who Are We As Republicans? Often people erroneously imagine that the Republican Party is symbolized by “white men on a golf course.” Are we really that party in 2021 or are we the party of the middle class? After the Democrats have spent many years imaging Republicans as the party of white privilege a recent IRS research shows just the opposite. Let’s look at some of the findings of the study. 65 percent of Americans earning more than $75,000 annually are Democrats 74 percent of Americans earning less than $100,000 a year are Republican Residents in 17 of the 20 wealthiest ZIP codes in the country gave more to Democrat candidates than to Republicans For more than 30 years liberals have created a wealthy class who control key services in our culture – media, healthcare, law, finance and academia. This powerful, influential group controls everything the average American touches every day resulting in decisions and policies that are gradually steering our nation to socialism. For more than 125 years Americans in the center of the country filled most manufacturing and blue collar jobs. They joined labor unions believing their best interests would be represented by union leaders while thinking local and national news outlets would truthfully and fully report what was happening in our country. Confidence in these institutions has changed and today Americans no longer trust union leadership any more than they listen to mainstream media reporters. The Woke movement has been orchestrated by elite, wealthy individuals whose children and families are exempt from their socialist ideologies and do not have to live within them. Influenced by trillions of dollars in market capitalization, these elites have the resources to live in big homes in Silicon Valley or estates along Chicago’ s North Shore and frequently travel between their multi-million dollar homes on private planes. They have the money to buy and enjoy whatever they want without worry. Meanwhile American workers are tired of being lectured by the likes of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey or Megan Markle critical of the mainstream American lifestyle. “Wokies” want to talk climate change, opening our borders to illegals entering our country, releasing convicted criminals from prison and converting our educational institutions into indoctrination camps where Critical Race Theory would be infused into young minds. So. Who are we Republicans today? Republicans today are people who are focused on issues that are important to the American people; we are not the party of elites. We are the political party of the middle class. We are proud, we honor God and we stand up for our country, our flag and our families. We defend the rights of the unborn, the right to live free and safe, the right to bear arms and the right to free speech. Always America First.
