Hi John,
It is a complete failure of the U.S. that we didn’t get our Afghan allies out of Afghanistan before withdrawing.
We are throwing them and their families to the wolves, and we’re breaking our promise we made to protect them. We’re further demoralizing all U.S. troops who worked with these allies and want to see them protected.
In fact, this reminds me a lot of when we abandoned the Kurds in Syria to Turkish forces. U.S. troops who had fought alongside the Kurds and promised we’d never abandon them felt betrayed when we broke our word and did just that. We put the Kurds in enormous danger.
We should be airlifting our allies and asylum seekers out of Kabul right now.
Then we should stop getting into wars for the purpose of resource extraction and spend our money on building up our people at home: our veterans, our kids, our seniors, and more.
The last thing we need is wars for oil when burning oil is literally destroying our planet and threatening human civilization.
Instead, we need peace, jobs, healthcare, housing, and an end to poverty and hunger.
Please help me fight for that in Congress by supporting my campaign with a quick donation right here:
