Dear John

On August 1, Rwanda lifted their 15-day lockdown but reimposed strict guidelines to contain Covid-19 infections. Restrictions on meetings, businesses, restaurants and gatherings remain in place in Kigali and eight other districts.

The government is doing everything possible to contain the spread of the virus and looking for ways to open up the economy through vaccinations. The vaccination program, which was rolled out a couple of months ago, is progressing well.

Pray for

  • The capital city Kigali and surrounding districts suffering lockdowns, restrictions and increase upwelling in covid cases.
  • The schools where we are currently running our reconciliation projects in conjunction with Bible Society. These schools are all located in Kayonza, Gatsibo and Rwamagana districts.
  • For the over 5,000 students, 25 peer leaders, 25 teachers, 25 parents, 30 pastors and 12 community leaders that have been educated in peace building through reconciliation.
  • For our Community Transformation Groups all over Rwanda, supporting and strengthening one another and making an impact in their communities.
  • John Kalenzi (AE Rwanda Team Leader) recently lost his sister to covid and his mother was also very ill but is getting stronger each day. Pray for the health and safety of John, his family and the Rwanda team.
  • For the schools that received Bibles (over 2,000 distributed) to find salvation and hope in God.
God bless,

Testimony from A Rwanda Pastor on forgiving and healing:

"In the 1994 I lost my beloved relatives who were innocently killed. This wounded my heart, I always found it hard to forgive those who killed my relatives."
