Virginia’s elections are less than three months away, and our target campaigns need help reaching more voters in this critical campaign stretch. Recent polling has shown the races for governor and several key House of Delegates seats are close—so every dollar raised, door knocked, letter written, and call made makes a real difference.

While we were thrilled to get back to in-person canvassing in Virginia last month, our team is closely monitoring the safety of in-person volunteer events with COVID cases rising across the country, and we’ll let you know if any of our current guidance changes. If you are participating in in-person events, please consult CDC guidance for your local area.

As we head into the fall, there are plenty of ways for you to get involved to protect democracy and set Democrats up for success in the 2022 midterms. Check out some high-impact ways to take action below!

Help write 1.5 million letters to voters

We’ve teamed up with Vote Forward to write 1.5 million letters to Virginia voters encouraging them to get out to vote this November. Right now, volunteers are writing and stockpiling letters to put in the mail on Saturday, September 18. Volunteers have already written nearly 480,000 letters—adopt 20 letters this week and help push us over 500,000!

Support Virginia Democrats running in the closest races

We're raising grassroots dollars for 10 House of Delegates races and Virginia's Democratic gubernatorial race. Polling shows these races are close, and if Trump-backed GOP candidates are able to win in Virginia this year, they'll use the same anti-science, anti-democracy, conspiracy-fueled playbook in 2022. We cannot let Republican candidates win this year. Here's how you can contribute:

• Donate directly to all 11 Democratic candidates with a single, quick donation to our Keep Virginia Blue Fund.
• Encourage your friends and family to donate by creating a grassroots fundraising page. You can set up a page in minutes and multiply your impact!
• Get a quarterly-updated personalized portfolio of candidates and civic organizations to support through Blueprint, our tool for impactful political giving.

Join the Immediate Impact Team

Earlier this summer, we launched the Immediate Impact Team—designed to give volunteers from anywhere in the country a path to get involved in the elections that determine the balance of power in our country.

We're hosting our first team orientation on Tuesday, August 24, at 8pm ET, and we'd love for you to join us!

At this volunteer orientation, we’ll explain how to move from resistance to persistence and continue defending our democracy. We'll share avenues for action—including letter writing, phone banking, and relational organizing—that relate directly to our 10-year strategy.
