John,
After the insurrection, General Motors paused their political donations and pledged to evaluate their donations to lawmakers in light of whether they aligned with GM’s core values.
Well, GM’s core values apparently don’t include democracy or the peaceful transfer of power, because GM has backed the Sedition Caucus to the tune of $57,000.
That’s right—GM has reversed course and decided to spend tens of thousands of dollars helping to re-elect the members of Congress who voted not to certify our election. That’s unacceptable—and GM needs to hear that, loud and clear. Sign on now and tell GM to keep their promise. They must stop donations to politicians who voted to reject the election results and call on them to renounce their votes.
Last month, CREW’s research exposed Toyota’s backing of dozens of members of the Sedition Caucus, and thousands of people speaking out on social media helped get Toyota to back down and stop their donations. Now it’s time for GM to feel the same kind of pressure.
Corporations that fund seditionists are doing it because they value their business interests more than democracy. But we know that tens of thousands of you won’t stand for that—and you can help make it clear that attacking our democracy is going to hurt their bottom line.
Sign on now and tell GM to stop funding seditionists, call on them to renounce their votes to overturn the election, and rescind donations they’ve already made.
Thank you,
Noah Bookbinder
President, CREW
