It was an early morning yesterday. I was up before the dawn. A tree had fallen along the way. But still I had to walk on.

Through day and night, whether clear skies or torrential downpour, I will walk from small towns to small farms, from small businesses to Veteran-owned BBQ joints and Community Music centers. I am walking in your shoes, understanding the problems faced by ordinary Americans. I will continue to present progressive, pragmatic solutions to those same problems.
As for the 5 AM fallen tree, it was no match for the staff and me. We split that log in two, and continued without further ado.

I even managed to grab a cup of Joe, despite a power cut in Mont Vernon.

After two hours of walking, a stake went into the ground and the team and I departed for coffee with Atkinson, Plaistow and Hampstead Democrats at the Ober Easy Diner. The diner was founded by a former engineer, Susan, and her husband - who still works as an engineer, but also cooks on weekends!

After returning to walk for another 6 miles - and stopping to talk to Adam Sexton of local ABC affiliate WMUR (video here [[link removed]] ) - I stopped for a bite to eat at Smokehaus BBQ. This fantastic small business was built by a former Navy vet, Dave, and has already won a ton of awards in New Hampshire in the year and a half since it opened. I recommend the chopped pork!

My walk finished in Manchester, where I held an event about autism at the Community Music School. As a member of Congress, I fought hard to secure the first new federal funding for autism treatment and services in over twelve years. Later that evening, I attended a local Democratic meeting in Hudson, and talked about defense reform, climate change and helathcare - and why I can not only talk the talk, but when elected I will walk the walk.

I’m now kicking off day 6, where I’ll be traveling from Peterborough to Mont Vernon. For my schedule for the day, please check out our events page ( here [[link removed]] ).
