Hi friend,

I hope you’re having a great summer. These last few months have been a whirlwind! I wanted to be sure to send you an update now that I’ve gotten settled into my new role as President. We’ve been traveling across the country to connect with NextGen supporters and political leaders — and we’re gearing up now for 2022.

As you know, last year’s youth voter turnout was the highest in our country’s history. This year, I’m so excited to capitalize on that momentum by building the nation’s largest youth voter mobilization effort for the coming election. With the Senate, House, and statehouses up for grabs, we’re doing the hard work now to reach 9.2 million young people in eight states, ensuring they show up in 2022. We know that organizing and reaching young voters now will make a difference in whether they vote in the next election.

How we're doing it:

-Talking to young voters, especially those who rarely or never voted before 2020, so they know the impact of their vote. Last month alone, we connected with 1 million young voters to make sure they knew how and where to get their free vaccine and the role the federal government had played in reopening our economy and schools. We also reached a quarter-million young voters to turn them out in local elections in Pennsylvania.

-Building on-the-ground voter engagement and registration programs in Texas, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and North Carolina. Our efforts will result in hundreds of thousands of new young people registered to vote with an expected turnout rate of 73 percent.

What’s next: We are continuing to build our expertise and lead the field nationally in reaching the largest and most progressive voting bloc in the country. I would love for you to join us as we continue fighting for our nation’s youth to be represented. Get ready for more updates from me because it’s going to be a busy year.

Lastly, I’ll leave you with some of my favorite clips we’ve earned over the last few weeks:
