A recent report shows just how indignant Gov. McMaster is against the orders of his own public health department in his fumbled response to the pandemic.
Against the orders of South Carolina's Department of Health and Environment Control officials, McMaster went full steam ahead by touting a budget proviso that bans mask mandates in schools — jeopardizing the health and safety of our students, teachers, families and communities.
You’d think that after grappling with the pandemic for more than a year he would’ve learned by now. Instead, he chose to politicize this public health crisis, so cases are spiking once again in our state — and McMaster is showing no interest in boosting vaccination rates or protecting our most vulnerable communities while the Delta variant ravages unvaccinated South Carolinians…especially our kids who aren’t old enough to get vaccinated.
Henry McMaster even gave a warning to state agencies to avoid working with anyone from the White House who is promoting vaccinations.
Really, Governor? Have you seen our state’s COVID stats recently? More than 10,000 dead, hospitals full and schools shutting down.
COVID cases are on the rise here in South Carolina, yet as a state we remain at the back of the pack in vaccinations.
With Henry at the helm, South Carolina will continue to lose small businesses. Schools and workplaces will continue to be disrupted. And more South Carolinians will continue to die because of his reckless inaction.
