Here’s what happened at the August Free Press Second Saturday Cyber-Salon on August 14 with the theme “Radical Nutrition.”

Cyber-salon host and Free Press Board member Mark Stansbery introduced the first speaker, Eriyah Flynn of Vegan Shift. She spoke about veganism, stressing that it is a consciousness, not simply a diet choice. Veganism is a way to live fairly and equally with all earthlings, not to embody human supremacy over animals. She mentioned several informative videos, including Cowspiracy.
 
Next, Harvey Wasserman announced the August 28-29 March on Washington for Statehood, Green Jobs and Justice, to commemorate the March in 1963 where Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his “I Have A Dream” speech. He emphasized that he is planning a four-hour Zoom on August 30: “National Justice Roundtable,” Time For A Unified Progressive Movement! It will be 1-5pm Eastern time. The Roundtable will include people from all over the country and will be followed up by monthly meetings on several different topics.
Rev. Joan VanBecelaere, Unitarian Universalist Justice Ohio Executive Director, announced a sister event for the March 28 event: Justice for All Rally. It has many local organizations sponsoring: Saturday, August 28, 1-3 p.m., East North Broadway & North High Street, E N Broadway & N High St, Columbus. Register. Bring your own signs!

Bryan Curtiss of WCRS community radio announced the station’s upcoming event: WCRS Fundraiser Benefit, Saturday August 28th, 2-11pm, Double Happiness, 482 S. Front St. - just south of Livingston/70 - Masks are required for the Indoors Part.
