Dear Twin Ports DSA Members and Associates,
This is a big week for Line 3 activism.
On Wednesday, August 18th at Bayfront Park at 12 pm Honor the Earth holds a big Water Is Life: Stop Line 3 Festival featuring over 14 acts, local and national.
Then the next day, Thursday at 10 am a number of organizations are holding a Line 3 protest and march in front of the St. Louis County Courthouse in downtown Duluth.
For our regular chapter events, we have a Racial Justice Working Group meeting on Wednesday at 5:30 pm. Email Lydia at [email protected] to get involved.
We also have our monthly meeting on Sunday at 4 pm. You can use this link to register.
In other event news, we have 3 possible parades and one festival we plan to attend. The first Parade is in Proctor on August 21st. Line-up is at 10:30 am at the fairgrounds. We have four volunteers and need at least two more to make it work or we will just skip it. Please respond to this email if you can participate.
The other events all take place around Labor Day weekend. We have Pride Fest, the Pride Parade, the Labor Day Parade, and possibly the Labor Day Picnic. I will fill you in on the specifics in a week or so.
In solidarity,
John Krumm
TPDSA Secretary
(If you have been receiving these emails and aren't a member yet, we want you to join! Our goals are both broad and local, and we intend to win as many as possible. Simply put--the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, green housing for all, a justice system that helps instead of harms, an end to poverty, socialists in office everywhere--these goals and more will not happen without mass participation. Use this link to join or renew.)
