John, the Washington Post is reporting on the truth that many of us know, but the GOP won’t admit: their lies have real, human consequences. The Big Lie is putting people in danger:

Once, being an election clerk was a way to get involved in democracy and contribute to the political system we all hold dear. After all, local officials are crucial to making our elections possible!
But Trump and the GOP’s conspiracy theories have made life a living hell for election officials.
State Senators in Arizona are calling for local officials to be placed in solitary confinement for not bowing down to the Big Lie. And the same officials are receiving death threats against themselves and their families!
The Brennan Center for Justice reports that similar intimidation has taken place across the country. And it’s not just at the local level – Secretaries of State have been receiving death threats ever since the 2020 election.
We need to show our support for the Secretaries who have stood up for us. That’s why, with our $50,000 deadline at midnight tonight, we need to close this gap to keep fighting back against the GOP.
John: Can you rush $27 or more to close the gap and protect our democracy? We’re counting on you! >>> [[link removed]]
