On Friday, the second round of monthly tax cuts of up to $300 per child went out to families across Ohio and the country.
After the first round of checks last month, Ohioans came forward with stories about how the Child Tax Credit is helping their families keep up with the cost of living, like a mother in Toledo who used her payments to help with bills, groceries, school supplies, and uniforms. And she’s not alone -- the families of 60 million American children and 2.1 million in Ohio got hundreds of dollars in tax cuts last month. And they’re getting them again this month, and every month through the end of the year.
Washington Republicans have spent their time focused on passing tax cuts for corporations and the top 1%, but when it came time to give out the biggest tax cut for working families ever, every single Republican voted against it.
The Biden Administration and Democrats are putting the focus in Congress back on working families. That’s why I’m working to make the expanded Child Tax Credit permanent beyond this year. Will you sign on to show your support for giving families the relief they need?
With gratitude,
Sherrod
