Today is the nine-year anniversary of when DACA applications first started being accepted.
Today’s anniversary is especially prominent in the wake of Judge Hanen’s decision to block all new DACA applications — bringing the program to its knees and leaving the lives and livelihoods of millions of undocumented immigrants in jeopardy.
But even at its full strength, DACA was never enough. Our community needs and deserves a permanent solution. On this anniversary, we are renewing our fight for a pathway to citizenship because we have never been closer.
