This week—after much anticipation—we finally got to take a closer look at the data from the 2020 US Census, and what it means for Congressional districts all across the country. Here’s the map for California:

As you can see, John, Katie’s district—CA-45—experienced one of the largest amounts of population growth over the past 10 years. The district saw growth of more than 110,000 residents, the most of any district in the entire state.

With a competitive re-election coming up in 2022, we need to start mobilizing now to reach these new voters and introduce them to Katie Porter and what she stands for.

Doing this is going to take considerable resources—especially when you take into consideration that Katie will have to go up against numerous right-wing opponents, heavy spending from the NRCC and GOP, and more. Keeping Katie in Congress will be challenging, which is why it’s so critical that we reach these new constituents as early as we can and earn their votes.

We’ve set a goal to raise $30,000 by midnight on August 16 to give our fundraising a boost as we mobilize into action to reach out to new voters, ensure Katie stays competitive against her challengers, and to keep her in Congress. Will you please chip in $3?
