This past week was an important one in the U.S. Senate.

First, we passed a bipartisan infrastructure bill that was the first significant investment in our nation's physical infrastructure in decades. Among many priorities, it will repair roads and bridges, expand public transit, deploy universal high-speed internet, improve clean water systems, and strengthen the resilience of our electrical grid.

Then just hours later, Senate Democrats acted in unison on a Budget Plan to dramatically expand educational and workforce opportunities; reduce the costs of health care, including prescription drugs; invest in clean energy and tackle climate change; provide tax cuts to middle class families with children, expand Medicare coverage to include dental, hearing and vision services, and much more.

Not ONE Republican voted for the budget package. The Senate is now 50-50. If we want to get the people’s work done, we must protect and expand our majority in the Senate and the House.
