Quick update, friend.
Last week, the Senate passed its bipartisan infrastructure package. Put simply, this bill would have massive implications for Montana. Here are some of the provisions in the bill that would benefit our state:
- $2.8 billion to repair and upgrade our roads, highways, and bridges
- $144 million for airports around Montana
- Billions to expand broadband and increase connectivity across our state
- $3.3 billion to reduce wildfire risk and increase firefighter salaries
- $1 billion to complete water projects including $100 million for the Milk River Project
- Authorization for all Native water rights settlements
This package is headed to the House for a vote, and I’ll be watching closely.
It’s precisely in moments like these when Montana needs a leader in Congress who will put politics aside and pass a bill that will bring resources to our state. You can’t count on a guy like Ryan Zinke to do that. His career has been about what’s best for special interests -- not our state.
The choice in this race is clear, but winning will require serious grassroots support to overcome the special interest money against us. That's why I need to ask:
Fundraising in August has been a challenge, and we need to pick up the pace in order to meet our $17,000 end-of-month goal. Can you chip in $3 to make sure we have the resources to win in Montana. We can’t risk falling short.
Thanks for being a part of this team,
Cora
