Friend,

The Recall polls are showing it's a toss up regarding whether Gavin Newsom
will be replaced next month.(1)

It’s going to come down to voter turnout, and our problem is that
Republicans are WAY more motivated to vote in this election than Democrats
and Independents are.(2) In fact, among the Latinx and Black population,
where there is the highest opposition to the Recall, reports are emerging
that people aren’t planning on voting or don’t see the need to.(3)

Turnout of Black and brown voters is key to defeating the Recall, which is
why we have partnered with Black Women for Wellness Action Project to post
this ad in targeted areas to turn out the vote. We’re also leveraging our
youth polling data in our No to the Recall, Yes to Progress project, to
make sure that as many people as possible know what’s at stake in this
election.

right-wing extremist from becoming governor of California. Will you chip
in $5?

If Newsom loses, his most likely replacement is Larry Elder — who’s
opposed to vaccine and mask mandates, doesn’t believe in tackling the
climate crisis, and thinks mass incarceration is just fine.(4)

Very few Californians agree with Elder. But most don’t understand that
Governor Newsom could get 49% of the vote and lose, while Elder would only
need to get the most votes among 46 candidates. That means he could
technically win with just a small fraction of people voting for him.

And make no mistake, Elder will eke out a win if too many Democrats and
Independents stay home. Right now, polls show that could very well happen.

That’s why we’re helping to raise money for these ads, which will run in
and around Stockton, Palmdale, Fresno, Los Angeles, and San Francisco --
places where we must have high Black and brown voter turnout.

$5?
