John, this is Katie Hobbs, Secretary of State of Arizona.
In a minute I’m going to ask you to chip in $27 toward tomorrow’s midnight deadline, but first let me explain why this goal is so important.
Voting rights have been central to the national discourse since last year – but it’s been a topic near and dear to my heart for far longer. I believe, along with all my colleagues at DASS, that voting access, reliability, and transparency are the cornerstones of a healthy democracy.
My counterparts on the right disagree.
If this past year is anything to go by, they think fewer voters, restricted ballot access, and endless messy partisan audits are the way to run elections.
My Democratic colleagues trust voters, trust our election workers, and trust that Joe Biden won fair and square. Endlessly relitigating 2020 only damages faith in the process further.
Let’s rebuild faith in our elections. Let’s ensure all American voters have easy access to the ballot box, and that every vote is counted. But that all starts with beating tonight’s deadline and stopping the far-right.
DASS is a national organization supporting the election of Democratic Secretaries of State who are committed to protecting and preserving voting rights and ballot access for all Americans through fair, honest, open, and accurate elections.
Help us fight back against the GOP's voter suppression agenda by pitching in today!
