Dear friends,
This email is different. Normally we write to you about some crisis or horrible disaster -- but this one is simply to say thank you. A massive, warm, heartfelt thank-you!

Thanks to contributions from more than 130,000 of us, our movement granted nearly $10 million to some of the world's most neglected communities in 2020.

We delivered food packages to struggling families, life-saving aid in refugee camps, medical supplies to isolated communities, and even helped fight a surge in animal poaching.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making that possible.

Watch this beautiful video to see how, together, we changed lives and inspired hope during one of the toughest years in living memory -- and hear from some of those we're helping on the frontlines:

- In South Asia, we've now provided over 5.5 million meals to families, ensuring thousands of the most vulnerable people didn’t have to go to bed hungry;
- In the Amazon, as national governments looked away, our movement responded with food and medical supplies, hiring boats and planes to reach the most isolated communities, deep in the rainforest;
- In the Democratic Republic of Congo, we distributed food parcels to more than 2,000 of the most vulnerable families;
- In total we funded 40 projects and emergency aid responses in 23 countries.

All this, and everything Avaaz does, is 100% funded by people like you. We are having a concrete, measurable, and lasting impact in the world, and giving people real hope.

I am one of them.

I've campaigned on climate change, the extinction crisis, and human rights for more than a decade -- and it can be really tough. But then recently I had the honour to work on these fundraising projects, and I've seen the medical supplies reach forgotten communities. I've seen the smiles after a good meal, and the tears of relief.

And to know that it's all possible thanks to mothers, friends, sisters, grandparents, neighbours -- many of whom might be going through rough times ourselves -- well, that goes beyond words. It's soul-food for the many battles ahead; proof again that our people-power really does change the world.

Thank you for that, from all of us.

With fierce hope and endless determination,

Mike, Marigona, Laura, Sofia, Fey, Alis, Martyna, Nell, Chris and the whole team at Avaaz
