Hi John,
It’s time for some fiscal responsibility: from the Pentagon.
As Roots Action recently noted, the proposed Pentagon budget is nearly $300 billion more than the cost of five Green New Deal bills.
In other news, it would cost a mere 1% of the U.S. annual military budget to end homelessness.
I hold the “radical” position that we should house everyone, end hunger and poverty, give everyone healthcare, stop subsidizing fossil fuel companies, and transition to renewable energy now. Can you contribute now to help me fight for that in Congress?
What does it say about our country’s priorities when 550,000 people are homeless every night in America — including 37,000 veterans — while funding continues unabated for America’s endless wars, coups, and drone bombing of weddings?
Everything else becomes moot if we don’t take bold action on climate change. Over 1,000 people died in the PNW heat dome — and we’re not even at 1.5 degrees of warming yet.
I’d rather spend money on life than death. On climate than war. It’s time to rein in the Pentagon’s out-of-control spending and fund people and climate instead.
If that’s how you feel, too, please consider a quick donation to my campaign right now:
