Newtown Action's tweet about Dwight's Resources for Victims of Gun Violence Act

John --

Today is a sad day. The city of Baltimore, the state of Maryland, and the entirety of our nation has suffered a tremendous loss.

Congressman Elijah E. Cummings was a fierce advocate for underserved areas and communities of color everywhere. A hardworking sharecropper's son who went on to become a civil rights champion, Congressman Cummings was fearless in his fight for justice for all and in holding this administration accountable. He was living history.

Serving alongside Congressman Cummings was an inspiration, and it's up to us to carry his mission forward.

I offer his family my prayers -- his light will continue to shine bright as a beacon for the United States of America.

Rest in power, Congressman.

Dwight
