BREAKING NEWS: Earthquake in Haiti
Friend, a devastating 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck the western coast of Haiti early this morning. Initial reports have confirmed over 200 fatalities, thousands of injuries and widespread destruction.
The death toll is expected to continue to rise. Project HOPE is already working to save lives -- communicating with our on the ground partners and sending an emergency response team as quickly as possible.

This earthquake comes as Haiti's health system continues to struggle following the destruction of the 2010 earthquake, decades of political crises, and most recently, spikes in COVID-19 cases as vaccine distribution began less than a month ago.

The situation on the ground in Haiti is urgent. Tropical Storm Grace could also impact the region next week, potentially leading to flash flooding and mudslides across Haiti.
