Pray for court cases in Kenya that have been continually delayed due to COVID-19. Pray for successful conclusions, for justice to be served and for the survivors to be released from fear and able to fully heal.
Latin America
Praise God for four committed Casework Partner Organizations in Guatemala who relentlessly worked to protect women and children from violence in their communities and secured 12 convictions between April-June.
For years now, IJM Guatemala has trained and walked alongside these organizations, teaching them IJM’s model to respond to violence, helping them contextualize it to what fits best for each of them and providing mentorship based on over 15 years of taking individual cases to court. Their commitment and response are inspiring. Please, continue praying for these four organizations as they keep seeking justice amid a pandemic that is far from over in this region.
South Asia
Please pray for our ongoing studies to measure the impact of IJM’s work in South Asia.
These studies (currently ongoing in three cities) will explore how our work has reduced human trafficking, improved the justice system’s performance, and changed how vulnerable communities seek justice. These studies will give us powerful evidence of how we can transform other communities to protect people in poverty, so they are so important for our future vision. Please pray our teams will be able to complete them well, especially with ongoing restrictions related to COVID-19.
Southeast Asia
Praise God for a partnership between IJM Philippines and TikTok! The #Report2Protect campaign is being used to encourage community reporting of the online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC) in the Philippines. Please pray that it will produce fruitful advocacy and awareness of OSEC among the general public. Please pray also that tech companies will not only provide opportunities for reporting abuse, but will make advances in detecting it at the earliest stages to protect children from this hideous form of slavery.
