In order to get stuff done in the legislature, we need more votes. That's just simple math. This year, we're going to be fighting for every single seat we can to make sure we have way more than just 5 seats creating our majority. So we have to look for those places that we know will be surefire pickups. And what better place to do it than in former Speaker Kirk Cox's backyard with a candidate like Katie Sponsler.
 

Katie's opponents are scared right now. They've hired people to follow her around and try to spin her in a bad light. But this veteran isn't giving in that easily and is giving the Republicans a run for their money, literally. They are pouring in hundreds of thousands to make sure that Democrats don't show up in November. 

Katie Sponsler is a US Airforce Veteran and National Park Ranger so service to her community runs deep. She is running on an unabashedly, progressive platform championing issues having to do with labor, education, and then environment. She can and will be the difference maker in whether or not Democrats hold onto the majority this fall. 

Though a Republican sits in this seat currently, the 66th is a lean Democratic district (+6.5) so we know that we can take this seat back. Kaine won this district in 2018, Northam won this district in 2017, and even Hillary Clinton won it back in 2016. We know the votes are out there. We just have to make sure the Sponsler campaign gets the resources they need.  Can you help us do that by chipping in $25, $50, $100, or more to our tandem fundraising effort?
