It’s been a busy summer in DC. And with your help, we can keep our momentum going.
We hit the ground running in June, securing over $18.7 million in funding from the INVEST in America Act for Middle and Southwest Georgia, which will be directed towards safer travel to school, work, shopping, and medical visits. But our work for the summer was just beginning.
In the same month, we announced a $330,000 grant from the EPA to help revitalize the city of Albany. By the end of June, we acquired an additional grant totalling $667,000 from the USDA that will be distributed between the city of Dawson and the Georgetown-Quitman and Miller counties.
Throughout the month of July, we secured a total of $23.5 million dollars for our state in various federal grants that will help our community recover from the various and devastating effects of COVID-19, rebuild our infrastructure, and revitalize our community spaces.
And folks, the work to improve our state is still far from over. With your support, we can ensure a brighter future for Georgia for generations to come.
