Stop the Arms Fair will be organising events from 6-16 Sept,
with the main action day on Tues 14 Sept

THE DSEI ARMS FAIR IS PLANNING TO RETURN TO LONDON NEXT MONTH. IT IS DUE TO
BEGIN ON TUESDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER. LOCAL GROUPS WILL BE ORGANISING THEMED
DAYS OF ACTION IN THE RUN UP TO THE ARMS FAIR, WITH THE MAIN ACTION DAY
BEING ON THE 14TH (more here [1]).

Unfortunately, DSEI is likely to be the first of a series of planned and
re-arranged arms fairs this autumn, which include:

FARNBOROUGH: DPRTE (Defence Procurement Research Technology Export), 5 OCT
2021
LIVERPOOL: AOC 2021 (Electronic Warfare) in Liverpool, 12 OCT 2021
MALVERN: 3CDSE (Three Counties Defence & Security Expo), 3 & 4 NOV 2021

To support campaigners taking action against arms fairs across the country,
CAAT HAS ESTABLISHED A NEWLY LAUNCHED STOP THE ARMS FAIRS (STAFS) FUND. YOU
CAN APPLY FOR SMALL POTS OF FUNDING  (UP TO £500) FROM THE FUND HERE:

The first tranche of this funding has a DEADLINE OF 31 AUGUST, so if it
might be of interest, please take a look and apply now [2]. The goal is to
help you campaign against the arms trade in a way that feels local to you,
given that many people still do not feel comfortable travelling long
distances at the moment.

As well as CAAT staff continuing to support these groups behind the scenes,
we will also be sponsoring online training (including Know Your Rights [3]
and Legal Observer training [3]) facilitated by our friends at Green &
Black Cross [4] (GBC), and delivering an online Conference at the Gates
[5], just before DSEI, aimed at students, academics and anyone interested
in the intersection between academia and militarism.
