‌John -- We are already seeing attempts at map manipulation. Before the Census Bureau released the redistricting data yesterday, conservatives were already trying to stack the deck in their favor.

Take a look below at a few examples of what they are trying to do -- if they anger you, you’re not alone -- I’m with you. I want our maps to be fair, and that’s why I’m at All On The Line. Help us fight back -- please consider chipping in a few dollars to All On The Line.

→ In North Carolina, map drawers released draft guidelines for map criteria less than 24 hours before the only hearing for public input on that criteria -- and they made it nearly impossible to access that hearing: little notice, no virtual component to participation in the hearing, limited capacity, and not making the registration process for speakers widely available.

→ In Michigan, a law firm who redistricting expert David Daley says has a reputation for “defending some of the most egregious GOP gerrymanders of the last decade” was hired by the state’s independent redistricting commission. This is bad news. These lawyers have defended some of the most notorious gerrymanders of the past decade -- their involvement signals just one way that conservatives will attempt to sabotage fair maps in places where the people have supported redistricting reform!

And this all happened this week. Imagine what will happen now that map drawers have the redistricting data in hand. The condensed redistricting timeline will shift gerrymandering into overdrive.

Can you donate $15 to help us meet our mid-month fundraising goal? We’re trying to gear up for the fight ahead and we need your help.
