John — This week, the Senate passed a $3.5 trillion budget resolution that includes $105 billion towards a pathway to citizenship, but here’s the catch: they also sneaked in 300 anti-immigrant amendments.

Passing a budget resolution that includes a pathway to citizenship is a huge, important victory in an uphill battle for justice. But, before this package leaves the Senate and lands in the House of Representatives, we must ensure it does not include any harmful tradeoffs for children and families. Use your voice to tell Senators that we must protect immigrants with no strings attached.

Take action now.

This is the first time in 30 years that undocumented immigrants —who risk their lives on the frontlines of this pandemic and grow our economy— have a shot at a pathway out of the shadows. This moment is huge, but it cannot be accompanied with harmful amendments that perpetuate racist stereotypes, endanger people seeking asylum, and INCREASE detention and deportation. We have a shot at protecting children and families now.

Take Action.

Our tax dollars cannot continue funding detention centers and a rotten system of harm and cruelty. A pathway to citizenship shouldn't come at the expense of other immigrants and people seeking asylum. The only way forward is to create an immigration system based on justice, compassion, and dignity.

Thanks for all you do,
