Today, President Trump's acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney announced that the president will host next year's G7 meeting at his Florida resort Trump National Doral.

If you've had trouble understanding what an emolument is, well, here it is, clear as day.

The president is directing the Office of Management and Budget to cut what will be an egregiously large check from the Treasury straight to his business.

THAT is an emolument, and, according to our Constitution, THAT is not permitted without the explicit approval of Congress (which we certainly will not provide).

If you're as appalled as I am by this president's continued lack of care for our laws and the Constitution, will you please sign your name next to mine?

So what's the big deal?

It's not just anyone's money going straight to Trump's luxury resort. It's YOUR money.

The president got to the White House by promising to clean up the swamp and all of the corruption. Well, Mr. President, looks like you've extended your swamp much further south -- all the way down to Florida.

This isn't the first time he's directly profited off the office of the presidency, and I'm afraid it's not going to be the last.
