Here was my message to these young patriots: the point of fighting in politics is to win. And in order to win in politics, you have to persuade. So I laid out five tools of persuasion these students could use to win a debate with their leftist classmates. For the speech, I used the climate change debate as an example; but these tools can be utilized effectively in any debate: Know your opponent's position so that your arguments are well-tailored to confront what they're actually saying. Frame the debate. There's different ways to do this - but an effective one is to point out the tradeoffs of the left's policies. Ask your opponent questions during a debate. Ask them in good faith. And it's especially good to ask questions you already know the answer to (hence tip #1 - know your opponent's position). Keep a few facts in your back pocket. Facts that directly confront your opponent's claims. Be a happy warrior. Smile. Don't be angry. Talk to your opponent, not at them. Those are just a few tips for young patriots looking to make a positive impact on the world. In an open letter the White House released this week - Biden is asking OPEC (foreign oil) to increase oil production in order to stop rising gasoline prices. “Higher gasoline costs, if left unchecked, risk harming the ongoing global recovery.” No kidding. But instead of asking a Middle East oil cartel to save America – the Biden Administration should stop implementing policies that make every possible attempt to DESTROY American oil and gas. Cancelling the Keystone Pipeline. Halting domestic oil and gas drilling. Ridiculous electric vehicle mandates. These policies are not just stupid, but anti-American. We’ve known since Day One that Biden’s agenda would cede American energy independence to dirty oil and gas producers like Saudi Arabia and Russia. And it’s clear from Biden’s letter that he’s totally fine with that outcome. We’re never going to convince Radical Democrats to reverse their job-crushing policies. Remember the data they used was from a single study conducted in India. The study was rejected in peer review but the CDC used it anyway. And now even the Washington Post, in a lengthy fact check article, is admitting that I was right. But the damage from the new CDC guidelines is already done. We're seeing all over again lockdowns, unnecessary school closures, young children being forced to wear masks, and now "COVID passports." The left's version of safety is looking more and more like being in prison. And since there are no limiting principles to their “compassion,” prison is the natural end state of their agenda. But I am going to keep fighting back against the tyrannical COVID policies they are forcing on the American people once again. Can I count on your support?
