. Hi John,
Thanks to your support, Wednesday’s Clean Energy Roundtable event was a huge success! We had more than 50 people show up to hear about climate solutions from Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi, and Sam Dunaiski from RENEW’s MadiSUN solar project.
We have a small window of time to take action for our climate and our communities, but listening to Wednesday’s speakers gives us hope. They talked about exciting programs in Dane County and Madison such as solar projects, landfill investment, electric buses, and other climate solutions that other local governments around Wisconsin can use as a model for combating climate change.
Our speakers made it clear that we have to act now. Mayor Rhodes-Conway said it best: “Everything is at stake…We need the federal government to fund things at the scale that local governments can’t afford.”
You can stay engaged this month by joining us for another exclusive event on Tuesday, Aug. 17 from 2 to 3 p.m. We're joining another discussion featuring Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway and several regional leaders on how to approach this challenge head on. County Executive Joe Parisi said, “It shows this ripple effect we can have and what an impact we can have when we do the right thing locally. Not only do we improve our community in so many different ways, but we can impact the rest of the planet.”
We as a community can have an impact on our planet and on our state, and more than ever, we need you to stay engaged.
You're invited to this very special follow-up event. Mayors from across the Midwest will join us for a discussion that takes a broader look at shared challenges and solutions regionally and how working together we can set our course for a clean energy future.
You can participate in this special event on Tuesday, Aug. 17 from 2 to 3 p.m. through Zoom.
