John-- I did something bold this week — some say controversial — but someone had to do it! Last year, we had to close the southern portions of San Diego county beaches for 131 days due to raw sewage spills from Tijuana! I’m with President Trump in saying "Build the Wall," but we also must "Build a Toilet Bowl," too! This week, I held a press conference to release a detailed 3-point plan to stop sewage spills from Mexico, and I put a poison pill in it: for every day that a sewage spill from Mexico closes one of our beaches in the US, we will close the border crossing at Otay and San Ysidro ports of entry for that day as well! The Democrats and the liberal media are attacking me saying I’m being too harsh. I disagree! This is the only leverage we have — to close the border when sewage spills happen!
