96 [link removed] John,

I just
wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know why I plan to vote
against the so-called “infrastructure” bills.

Let me be clear. Our
infrastructure has real problems – both in Oklahoma and across the
country.

Our roads and bridges are in desperate need of repair.
Broadband internet (especially in rural areas) needs heavy investment.
And I would gladly support a sensible plan to fix these problems.
But let’s call a spade a spade. This isn’t about infrastructure. I
cannot in good conscience support nearly $5 trillion in reckless
spending when only a small fraction of the funding actually goes toward
making repairs.

As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, I will
do everything in my power to find common sense, conservative solutions
to fix our roads and bridges and expand broadband access.

But Nancy
Pelosi’s phony “infrastructure” plan is a total non-starter for anyone
who cares about the fiscal future of our nation. And I’m duty-bound to
oppose it.

Sincerely,

Kevin Hern
